Mutton Kosha Bengali Recipe | Bengali Slow Cooked Mutton Curry| Kosha Mangsho

Among the myriad renowned Bengali dishes, this is one dish that never fails to impress anyone. It's the Spicy Bengali Mutton Curry aka Kosha Mangsho! It's a known fact that most Bengalis live to eat and not the other way round, and most of them have grown up licking their fingers to Kosha Mangsho's velvety gravy and biting into the juicy pieces of the meat, cooked lovingly by their grandmothers and mothers. Today, we bring you the recipe of this sumptuous dish straight from a Bengali kitchen.

Ingredients

Mutton - 1 Kg
Onion - 700 gms
Green chilies (finely Chopped) (optional) - 3
Coriander Leaves ( Finely Chopped) - 2 Tbsp
Clarified Butter / Ghee - 1 Tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp
Curd(whisked) - 1/2 cup

In Dry Spices :-
Turmeric Powder -1 Tsp
Red Chili Powder -1 Tbsp
Kashmiri RedChili Powder (Optional)- 1 Tbsp
Coriander Powder - 1 Tbsp
Mutton Masala ( I have used "Everest Mutton Masala" ) -1 Tbsp
Garam Masala - 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Sugar -1 Tsp

In Solid Spices
Red Chilies - 3
Black Cardamom - 1
Green Cardamom - 4 -5
Cinamon stick - 1 big size
Cloves - 4-5
Bay leaves - 3
For Marinade
Onion (Roughly Chopped) - 1
Garlic (finely chopped) - 1 Tbsp
Curd - 3 Tbsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 Tbsp
Mustard Oil - 1 Tbsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
