Welcome to the class. This is the 25th class of Genetics and Plant Breeding. In this video, I have shared with you all, the notes of Hybrid sterility. In previous lectures I have explained Aims/Objectives of Plant breeding, Basic techniques of Plant breeding, Pureline selection, Mass selection, Plant Introduction and Acclimatization, Agencies for Plant Introduction, procedure of Plant introduction, Merits and demerits of Plant Introduction, Hybridization, procedure of hybridization, techniques of hybridization, Emasculation, Bagging, Tagging, Pollination, Difficulties in Hybridization, Mutational breeding, the steps in mutational breeding, Macromutation and Micromutation, Mutational breeding in Oligogenic trait and Mutational breeding in polygenic trait, Limitations and applications of mutational breeding, Heterosis/Hybrid vigour, Outbreeding, Manifestation of heterosis, Mutation and Types of Mutation, Types of Mutation according to the type of cell and according to magnitude or quality, Types of mutation on basis of origin, direction, magnitude of phenotypic effect, consequent change in amino acid, according to types of chromosome and chromosomal aberration i.e. Deletion, duplication, Translocation, Inversion, Mendel's law i.e. Law of Dominance, Law of segregation, Law of Independent assortment, Incomplete dominance, Barr body and Lyon Hypothesis, Autosomes and Sex chromosomes. I have explained it in an easy language. Further I will cover all other topics of Genetics and Plant Breeding like
