Святы крепки,
Святы бессмертны,
Помилуй мя...

Мне осталась одна забава:
Пальцы в рот да веселый свист.
Прокатилась дурная слава,
Что похабник я и скандалист.

Ах! Какая смешная потеря!
Много в жизни смешных потерь.
Стыдно мне, что я в Бога не верил.
Горько мне, что не верю теперь.

Дар поэта - ласкать и карябать,
Роковая на нем печать.
Розу белую с черной жабой
Я хотел на земле повенчать.

Пусть не сладились, пусть не сбылись
Эти помыслы розовых дней.
Но коль черти в душе гнездились -
Значит, ангелы жили в ней.

Золотые далекие дали!
Все сжигает житейская мреть.
И похабничал я и скандалил
Для того чтобы ярче гореть.

Вот за это веселие мути,
Отправляясь с ней в край иной,
Я хочу при последней минуте
Попросить тех, кто будет со мной,

Чтоб за все за грехи мои тяжкие,
За неверие в благодать
Положили меня в русской рубашке
Под иконами умирать.

Мне осталась одна забава:

The gift of the poet - to caress and scribble,
their fate is sealed.
A white rose with a black toad
I wanted to marry together on earth.

these thoughts of rosy days
But if devils nested in my soul -
That means angels lived there too.

Golden, far off distances!
The worldly dream burns everything.
I've been foul and scandalous
in order to burn brighter.

Here's to the fun messes,
I'm going with them to the other side,
I want at the final moment
to ask those who will be with me
That for everything, for my grave sins,
for my disbelief in grace,
that they lay me out in a Russian shirt
under the icons to die.
