Definitely NOT a Nike Wildhorse 6 Hiking Shoe Review
I got new hiking shoes! I got myself some brand new bright orange Nike Wildhorse 6 trail running shoes to carry me on all my future hiking adventures. This is definitely NOT a Nike Wildhorse 6 shoe review because I am in no way qualified to review them, but I’m excited to share my new hiking shoes with you, and you’ll get to watch me try them out on some pretty rugged terrain, lol.

My search to discover what are good hiking shoes started with my friend Derek when we were hiking Staunton State Park and the Three Sisters in Evergreen Colorado. Derek is a big fan of Nike Trail and showed me all of the different pairs of Nike trail running shoes he has (like all of them). I did some research watching YouTube videos about the best shoes for hiking and everyone who reviewed the Nike Wildhorse 6 really loved them. Pair that with Derek’s recommendation and I had found some good trail runners for hiking.
The trail runners vs hiking shoes is a relatively new debate, but one that is quickly tipping towards trail runners. On the YouTube hiking channels I watch nearly everyone is hiking in trail runners, unless they’re somewhere where they absolutely need boots. The main reasons to choose trail runners over hiking boots is because they are lightweight and breathable, and dry quickly if they do get wet. Overall they’re just a more comfortable hiking shoe for the miles (even if they are a little less durable). I mean, Derek wore his Nike Pegasus 36 in the snow during our Three Sisters hike in Evergreen Colorado and was fine.
That’s why I chose my new Nike Wildhorse 6. I can’t wait to get on the trail with them and give you all a real review of my experience!
Now that Abby and I are solidly planted in Missouri, we’re going to explore all the St. Louis area hiking trails, all the best places to hike in Missouri, and share it all with you.
