Overcoming One Idol At A Time!

If God promises to cleanse you from all your idols (Ezekiel 36:25-27), and I'll tell you, any of you that have been a Christian any amount of time, you know full well He does not cleanse them all the first day you get saved. It would overwhelm you. It would destroy you. You know what He does? It's like running the hurdles. You have to take the next hurdle before you can take the one further down the track. That's how it is with idols. You should expect there to be a series of hurdles you need to overcome, and if you ever noticed, you can't bypass one hurdle and go to the next one—God won't let you. You will stagnate. You will be miserable. God will withdraw. You’ll wonder, "Where is He?" and face all sorts of problems. You don't want to do that. As much as we are free and as much as we reject legalism, we also recognize He’s come to cleanse us from our idols, and He knows how to do it.
