The best time to take pomegranate cuttings for propagation is in late winter or early spring, just before new growth begins. This is typically from late February to early March, depending on your location and climate.

To take the cuttings, select healthy, disease-free stems that are approximately pencil-thick and 12-18 inches in length. Cut these stems at a 45-degree angle with a clean, sharp pair of pruning shears.

After taking the cuttings, remove any leaves from the bottom half of the stem and dip the cut end in rooting hormone to encourage the development of roots. Plant the cuttings in a well-draining potting mix, and keep them in a warm, humid environment with bright, indirect light. Water the cuttings as needed to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

With proper care, pomegranate cuttings should begin to root and produce new growth within a few weeks to a month. Once they have developed a strong root system and new growth, they can be transplanted into a larger container or planted outside in a sunny location with well-draining soil
