The International Florence Price Festival and the Big Blue Opera Initiatives present Songs from the Heart of a Woman: The Vocal Music of Florence Price. The program features professional, faculty, and student artists of the Big Blue Opera Initiatives at Tennessee State University rendering beloved art songs, negro spirituals, and choral arrangement of Price. Artists include baritone Elvie Williams, countertenor Patrick Dailey, soprano Alysha Hinton, mezzo-soprano Brittany Lewis-Williams, pianists Drs. Matthew Phelps and Darryl Nettles along with the W. Crimm Singers (aka Wakanda Chorale) under the direction of Dailey and Marques Jerrell Ruff.
