[MenamL26] Welcome Remarks KAUST President - Sir Edward Byrne AC

Speaker bio:
Sir Edward Byrne AC, a distinguished scientist and academic leader, serves as the fourth President of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), having assumed the role in September 2024. Previously the President and Principal of King’s College London and Vice-Chancellor of Monash University, Sir Byrne brings extensive experience in global higher education and research to advance KAUST’s strategy in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2020 for his services to higher education. His prolific career spans significant clinical leadership roles, including directing the Centre for Neuroscience in Melbourne, as well as serving as the global chief medical officer of Ramsay Health Care Group and being a member of the Patrons Council for the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria.
