What’s it like working at a nuclear site?
 
As part of our ‘Watts Up?’ series focused on young people in clean energy jobs, we hear from Apprentice of the Year, AJ, a technician at EDF, who tells us more about his journey into nuclear, what it’s like working at Heysham 2 and why an apprenticeship is a great option for a career in energy.

EDF has recently announced the lifetime extension of Heysham 2 to March 2030. The impact of this will be significant in helping ensure a reliable supply of zero-carbon electricity, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting the overall decarbonisation of the power sector.
