What is AutoGen?

AutoGen is a multi-agent framework enabling users to define agents with unique prompts, tools, and roles to collaboratively solve complex problems. This video covers different interaction modes—like free joint chat, hierarchical chat, sequential chat, and group chat—starting with a simple student-teacher exchange and advancing to setups where groups of agents share information or collaborate under a group chat manager.

Through real-world examples in a Jupyter notebook, we showcase a user proxy agent interacting with an assistant agent to retrieve stock data, with dynamic code generation, debugging, and execution.

The video also highlights AutoGen’s integration with Phoenix to visualize multi-agent interactions for easier tracing and evaluation.
