Relatives of the 62 people on board Sriwijaya Air flight SJ182 are waiting for remains of their loved ones and answers to why the Boeing 737-524 crashed into the Java Sea soon after take-off on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Search teams have been plucking bodies and wreckage and clothing from the waters off West Kalimantan province in Indonesia. Investigators have pinpointed the exact location of the passenger plane’s black boxes, and hope that data from the cockpit voice and flight data recorders will clarify why the plane went down only minutes after it left the capital Jakarta.
