Christian Kerez
Christian Kerez founded his architectural practice in Zurich, Switzerland in 1993 after working for several years as an architectural photographer. His award winning built projects include the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein completed in 2000, the house with one wall completed in 2007 and his first built work, the minimalist Oberrealta Chapel in Cazis. Recently, his work has focused on experimenting with the structural systems of buildings, as published in the 2013 monograph, Uncertain Certainty. His competition-winning design for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Poland resulted in the publication Conflict Politics: Construction Privacy Obsession. For the Swiss Pavillion of the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, Kerez designed the installation Incidental Space, an amorphous structure which raised questions of the limits of imagination and technical feasibility in architecture today.
