😆 Top 5 Stupid FAKE Injuries In Football

Hello, everyone! Today we’re gonna talk about some weird stories about footballers who hid the truth about their injuries as they deceived doctors and acted like everything is fine in front of millions of fans! Let’s have some fun and start the show!

Hakim Ziyech

The first story is about Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech, who wasn’t called up to the Moroccan national team last September due to a very surprising reason - the team’s head coach Vahid Halilhodžić accused the player of lying!

“He has refrained from training and hasn’t been disciplined in the last two rallies. He didn’t look like a player from a national team fighting to qualify for the World Cup. He lied to me.”

“For the first time in my coaching career, I’ve seen a national team player who doesn’t want to train and pretends to be injured, although tests have shown he can play. This is unacceptable for me.” Halilhodzic said back then.

Ziyech, in turn, decided to ignore the case and kept repeating in his interviews that the aggressive statements of the Morocco coach did not interest him at all. Apparently, his move to Chelsea gave Hakim a great boost of confidence but discouraged the guy to work for his national team. That's his decision, after all, but the main problem is that Ziyech misses this year’s Africa Cup of Nations as he still hasn’t got along with the coach and accordingly the road back to the national team is still closed...

Adil Rami

Former French centre-back, world champion Adil Rami also caught lying! In February 2020, he moved from Turkish Fenerbahce to Russian FC Sochi, but then next May, just in a few months since, the contract was suddenly cancelled, and Rami didn’t even have an opportunity to play for the new team!

First, he was given time to adapt to a new country and team, and later the coronavirus outbreak forced the football world to make some pause, hence Adil was unable to make his debut in Russia. And eventually, the Sochi board reported that during the transfer negotiations, the Frenchman hid a knee injury from the Russian club to make this transfer happen along with the generous contract!

As soon as the Sochi medical staff found out about Rami's problem, they sent him to a clinic in Barcelona to a highly qualified doctor, Jose Noronia, who not only confirmed the diagnosis but also stated that Adil cannot continue his professional career with such an injury in his knee!

After this news, Rami's agent raised hell, claiming that the club had not paid his client's salary all this time as they simply decided to blame the player in order to cover their own deception! FC Sochi owner, however, noted that the French defender was always paid on time. The only thing that Adil did not have during his period at Sochi was special bonuses indicated in the contract, but it was literally impossible to qualify for them, as the Frenchman, as we already mentioned, hasn’t played even a single game for the club!

The war continued as both parties never found a compromise, and the agent promised Sochi legal proceedings with a desire to defend Rami’s reputation to the end. But anyway, the contract was terminated, and Rami returned to his homeland, currently playing for Troyes in Ligue 1.

Ousmane Dembele

Ousmane Dembele is another type of footballer that we don’t recommend to take an example of! When it comes to fake injuries,
the Barcelona winger acts like a true master of the grand theatre.

In 2019, he had a scandal due to an injury in the game against Athletic Bilbao. The Frenchman refused to undergo a medical examination immediately after the clash and convinced the doctors that he didn’t feel discomfort, assuring that the injury wasn’t serious whatsoever.

Having refused the Barca doctors to check the player’s condition, Ousmane immediately left for the airport to fly to Senegal for the weekend to meet his relatives. Dembele spent two days there without answering calls from Barcelona staff and coaches.

And these days, history repeats itself! Dembele literally shocked the Blaugranas with his demands for a new contract - he demanded a 5-year contract with 40 million euros a year salary, and otherwise, he leaves in the summer as a free agent. But the board did not fall for the Frenchman's ultimatum and have publicly stated that there are only two ways for Ousmane - to be sold in January or to spend the rest of the season on the bench.
