Deep litter cleaning my chicken house. This is my first clean out of my deep litter chicken house. I have 6 Rhode Island Reds that are almost 7 months old. We are near Atlanta Georgia and it’s mid to late November. We have consistently got 5 eggs from our 6 girls since they came online. Our first started at 4 months and 1 week. Our girls came by USPS from Meyer Hatchery. Our girls are huge and most have big combs so they are not cold weather girls but that suits us fine in Georgia. Big combs on chickens can lead to frostbite in colder areas.
