Scotland’s new hate crime laws puts us in ‘clown territory’
GB News presenter Darren Grimes says we are in “clown territory” with Scotland “leading the charge”.
This comes as more details are being revealed about Scotland’s new hate crime laws, which makes it an offense to “stir up hatred” on the grounds of age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity but doesn’t include hatred of women.
Taxpayer funds totalling nearly 400,000 pounds were allocated for promoting the new laws.
The controversial campaign emphasised words could hurt feelings and encouraged people to report instances of “hate” to the police.
“We really are in clown territory, and Scotland is very much leading the charge,” Mr Grimes told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
“We’re really entering into dark territory throughout Europe, and unless we pull back soon, I fear that there’s going to be a lot of people, innocent people dragged into this.”
