How to Practice a Harmonica Scale (NEXT LEVEL - Note Skipping)

In my previous video on How to Practice a Harmonica Scale Next Level, I showed how to take a pattern of 3 notes through a scale on the harmonica. This kind of approach to playing scales is often called a "Sequence."

In that lesson, we used the "Almost Blues Scale" to illustrate the principle. If you missed that or want to review it, you can check it out here:

In this video, we review that concept, but this time taking it through the Major Scale in 1st position on a C harmonica.

Then, for the NEXT LEVEL AFTER THAT, we omit the center note of each group of 3 notes, so saying the intervals we are playing:

1 - 3
2 - 4
3 - 5
4 - 6
5 - 7
6 - 1

And coming back down, the intervals we are playing are:

1 - 6
7 - 5
6 - 4
5 - 3
4 - 2
3 - 1

Another way of describing this exercise is that we are taking the interval of A THIRD and sequencing it through the major scale. The harmonica tabs for this are:

4 5
-4 -5
5 6
-5 -6
6 -7
-6 7

And back down:
7 -6
-7 6
-6 -5
6 5
-5 -4
5 4
