Third Nationwide Blackout Hits Cuba in March Amid Fuel Crisis

Cuba's national electric grid collapsed on Saturday, leaving the entire island without power for the third time this month. The state-owned Cuban Electric Union announced a total disconnection of the National Electric System with no initial cause provided. This follows previous nationwide outages earlier in March and comes amid chronic issues like decaying infrastructure, daily rolling blackouts, fuel shortages, and a US-imposed oil blockade that has severely limited imports and worsened the energy crisis.
