Mira Go Shower Repair - Replacing Solenoid

If your shower water stops flowing mid shower and the power is still on then there is a good chance that the solenoid coil has failed. This video shows how I changed the solenoid on my shower . This is a Mira Go shower and is only about 5 years old. On some showers this job is very easy but on the Mira Go it was a bit of a challenge in that you have to remove a few parts to get the solenoid out. Also the solenoid spade connectors need to be bent like the original solenoid in order to fit.
If you have any reservations about working with water or power please do not attempt this. Always make sure the power is off from the fusebox to the shower and that the shower is isolated from the mains water supply.
It is not terribly difficult and if you are used to working with electrics and water it should be straight forward.
If you decide to go for it - Good Luck.
I have listed the tools and parts used to complete the job - may be useful.
Here are some links to the Tools and Parts used in this job;

This is the solenoid I used in my Mira Go shower and it works bery well. Have had no problems http://amzn.to/2DjX3nn

I have this Wera bit set which has torx bits. It is pricey but the quality is excellent and can take abuse. A quality tool set http://amzn.to/2D0ztiv

I also used a screwdriver to open the shower and check the electrical connections while I am in there. A good set that will last many years; http://amzn.to/2CYH80C

Good little pair of general purpose pliers - http://amzn.to/2CQapqq
