Replace Your Jon Boat Transom Under $100!

Aluminum boat transom replacement. Is the wood transom in your small boat, jon boat or little aluminum fishing boat in bad shape? If you're doing a jon boat restoration, there are many options when it comes to replacing the transom board in a john boat, small V hull boat, a Tinny or or other type of aluminum boat. 10 foot boats, 12 foot boats, 14 foot boats, 16 foot boats and other little V hull and flat bottom fishing boats and bass boats are usually constructed from aluminum with a wood transom.

I take a look at several options to replace a transom in a small boat - Coosa Board, Starboard, PVC board, Marine Grade Plywood, Marine Grade Plywood covered in Fiberglass and resin, Pressure Treated Plywood, and BCX Plywood. Each option has advantages and disadvantages. Doing it "right" can be expensive but is the cheapest option a bad choice?
