Life On The Road | Airline Pilot Overnights

If you want to become an airline pilot, you'll typically spend somewhere from 10-15 nights away from home in hotel rooms each month. Do we pay for the hotel? How do we get to/from the airport? What are the shortest and longest overnights we have? Find out in this video! Join me on an overnight in Traverse City, Michigan after a short flight from Chicago O'Hare. Trust me, not every overnight is this good and I find myself staring at strip mall parking lots more nights than not... So enjoy the good overnights when you have them! Here's what you'll want to know about how airline pilot overnight layovers work.

(Cockpit scenes filmed under Part 91 with approval of Envoy Air, Inc. Current mask-wearing policies were followed at the time of filming. Footage not recorded in chronological order.)
