Nothing Left To Lose (Complete Mapleshade & Perchpaw PMV MAP)

It's finally here! Thank you everyone so much who took part in this or people who stayed along for the journey. Especially OFUKITTY who helped with the end credits when he editor decided it hates me. The final project looks so incredible and I'm happy to share it with you now. ❤

Summary: Mapleshade has kits with a tom named Appledusk from a rival clan. Having kits outside your clan is against the warrior code. Mapleshade plans on telling the truth someday, but well lying is easier. So Mapleshade lies about the father. Her secret however is reviled by the clans medicine cat, Ravenwing. No one stands up for Mapleshade and she promptly is exiled.

After her kits died horribly in a tragic accident trying to transport them to Appledusk, the father who lives in a rival clan. Appledusk has a new mate now and she is already pregnant with his kits. Appledusk blames her for her kits death and refuses to help her. Mapleshade then swears vengeance on everyone who betrayed her.

In RiverClan Appleduck has an apprentice, Perchpaw. Perchpaw has overheard a lot about Mapleshade from his clan gossiping. Knowing her tragic story he understands her anger. If something like that happened to him, he'd be angry too and wouldn't be thinking clearly. He dosen't blame Appleduck for his choice and looks up to him a lot. Perchpaw hopes Mapleshade would find peace elsewhere.

However Mapleshade is more determined to get vengeance than anyone anticipated and has killed Ravenwing and Frecklewish, a she-cat who was reviled to have watched the kits drowning without helping, already and plans to do the same to Appledusk. She kidnaps Perchpaw in order to lure Appleduck and maybe even his new mate Reedshine to her for her last piece of vengeance.

Perchpaw knowing her history tries desperately to convince Mapleshade that what she is doing is wrong. Mapleshade however is bent on her decision and that she is justified. Her kidnapping of Perchpaw successfully lures out Appledusk and Reedshine. Mapleshade is able to kill Appledusk as he defends Reedshine. Perchpaw looks on in horror and jumps in, now that Mapleshade is distracted by her murder of Appledusk, and gives her a killing wound to her neck.

An injured Mapleshade dragged herself off clan territory and died shortly after. The next evening Perchpaw reflects over what happened and griefs over his mentors death, his paw rests on the scar Mapleshade gave him. Like the scar this day and the vengeful Mapleshade will leave a mark on the clans and himself for a long long time.

(In the actual book Perchpaw dosen't have this big a role and is kidnapped and kills Mapleshade pretty quickly without much dialog or development. I personally think he deserves more though. Mapleshade is known for being a very evil cat who causes trouble way past her death, and is one of the most if not the most popular villains in the series. Perchpaw is the one who killed her. He killed Mapleshade. That's really something! So I gave him more development and motivation for this MAP.)
