It was a rainy day inside my recording studio, and I pondered what new video I could create. Then I remembered I had an old barrel fan I used back in 2015 for a sleep video ! I realized I had never recorded its sounds through an echoing tube, so I decided to record it through two tubes simultaneously.

I waited until the rain was falling on the metal roof with a calm, steady pace. Then I set the fan up, and centered both tubes on either side of the fan. I carefully placed a Go Pro camera inside each tube, for a first person point of view of what it would look and sound like from within the tube. I turned both cameras on, and then turned the fan on low speed for a deeper drone.

At the thirty minute mark the screen fades to a 95% black screen, so the bright light from your viewing device won't keep the room lit up at night. Relax and sleep well my friends!

Here is a short equipment list that we use to create all of these relaxing sleep videos which includes, but is not limited too the following. Multiple Go Pro's, A Nikon 7500, a trusty Tascam DR-100 Mk3 for most of the audio recordings in mp3 format, a range of microphones including a Sure 57 for that deep, low end sound. For the final production of both video and audio I use only Adobe Premiere Pro. If you have any questions about how I recorded something, just ask.
