We should fight against 'cancel culture cretins': Smith

Sky News host Chris Smith says actor Rowan Atkinson’s stand against cancel culture and divisive social media is a good thing.

It comes after Mr Atkinson slammed the Cancel Culture movement, comparing it to a "medieval mob" looking for someone to burn.

“It becomes a case of either you’re with us or you’re against us, and if you’re against us you deserve to be cancelled,” Mr Smith said.

Mr Smith said this behaviour was how the “mob behaves” and Australia had seen fights about free speech against “those who get offended about anything that hurts their feelings”.

“Atkinson simply says it’s important that we’re exposed to a wide spectrum of opinion and how can anyone disagree with that.”
