The guided missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta intercepted the vessel on April 26, enforcing the blockade, as confirmed by US Central Command. This comes even as Iran signals readiness for talks and calls for speeding up negotiations. Meanwhile, Iran has accused the United States of piracy after American forces seized two tankers in the Indian Ocean, allegedly carrying Iranian oil. Iran’s Foreign Ministry termed the action “armed robbery on the high seas” and a violation of international law, accusing Washington of legitimizing piracy.
