The First India War for Independence-Vellore Mutiny of 1806

The British officers in the fort were shocked by the noise aroused by the native soldiers with weapons. The native soldiers knocked each home and dragged the British officers out of their bed and executed them. It was a blood bath and brutal mutiny in the history of India. It is not the sepoy mutiny of 1857 but the Vellore mutiny of 1806. Many historians agree that the Vellore mutiny was the first Indian independence movement.
