A video of an evening in Patong, Thailand. I was catching the last flight back to Bangkok, so had a few beers in the Tiger Complex on Bangla Road before heading to the airport and back to Bangkok...

I ended up drinking one beer too many in the Tiger Complex and was late for my airport taxi...

Hemingway's Silk Hotel

I didn't have enough footage for a full video so here is the low down:

The Good:

- Great central location, walkable to Bangla Road, Jungceylon shopping mall and 10 mins to Patong beach
- Clean rooms with nice balconies
- 100% guest friendly, no extra reception fees to bring back a lady (10:26 is the unregistered guest policy)
- Great food at good prices, I was so happy with everything I ordered here and it really does make a difference if you can order such high quality room service food. 9/10 for food...
- Quiet at night
- Swimming pool, bar and sun lounge area on the roof
- Firm expat favourite, I chatted to 3 different guys about their thoughts on this hotel and every one of them was very happy

The Bad:

- Room cost is slightly higher than average for the area
- Rooms were slightly on the small side, just 22 sq m (not sure if the balcony is included in this)
- My room was rough around the edges in parts (as you can see on the headboard)
- No fitness center, could be a deal breaker for some people

The Ugly:

- The luggage drop-off was not covered by CCTV or the staff and anything left was at the customers own risk with signs indicating this. Disappointing, and is not good for people who have late flights...

Overall: I enjoyed my stay at Hemingway's Silk hotel and would definitely visit again. It wasn't perfect, but for the same money you could do a whole lot worse when visiting Patong...

Taxi ride to the airport

I had booked the airport taxi for 10pm, and I turned up 20 mins late and a bit worse for wear. The driver decided to take the slower coastal route and I ended up being late for the check in...

Air Asia flight back to Bangkok

Despite being over the domestic 45 mins limit for the check in time I still managed to get a boarding pass printed out and hurriedly made my way to the departure gate.

I was very happy to see that boarding the plane was delayed by a few mins and therefore I didn't miss my flight... :)
