Sunisa Lee Welcome Home Parade - August 8, 2021 Saint Paul, MN

August 8, 2021. Welcome home parade to celebrate the returning of Olympic All-Around Gold Medalist Sunisa Lee, native to Saint Paul, Minnesota. The first Hmong American to qualify for the Olympics & first Asian American Woman to receive a gold medal in the all around event, proving to be the best all around gymnast in the entire world of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (postponed to 2021). Along with the gold medal, Suni received the silver medal for the team event, and bronze for individual uneven bars. Not only did she represent The United States of America, she represented all Asians, and most importantly, helped bring the spotlight to the Hmong people. We are very proud to have a person from the Hmong community represent us and show us that we are capable of anything as long as we put in the effort and dedication into our lifelong dreams and goals just like Sunisa Lee. We are happy to celebrate this outstanding achievement and historic moment in life together as we get to witness a person of our ethnic group represent us and accomplish so much not only for herself, but for us as Hmong people as well.
