00:00 Intro

00:55 Colombia

We are going to start today’s list with Colombia, an interesting country in South America that has improved its overall quality of life quite sharply in the last decade
There are two relatively cheap ways to get a residence permit in Colombia. The first is by opening a company in the country, which has some ongoing costs but I would still consider it a good deal. Corporate taxes in Colombia are high, but the low cost of living makes up for that.

01:57 Thailand

Thailand is another option in which you can live with a high quality of life for under 1500 USD per month. Thailand has some of the best infrastructure in Southeast Asia, direct flights to many countries and cities in North America, Asia and Europe, among many other advantages.
Thailand is also home to some of the best beaches in the world, and is the perfect place if you are a tropical weather enthusiast.
Thailand however does not have the most flexible visa policies. The best option is getting a Thai Elite Visa with a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years and you can stay up to one year per entry.

03:10 Turkey

The next country in the list is Turkey. Turkey still remains one of the most underrated countries to travel, move and invest in the world. It is currently the cheapest country in Europe if we consider that a small part of Turkey is in Europe, but the majority of it is in Asia.
To successfully apply for a residence permit in Turkey, you need to show you have enough funds to cover your stay. Currently the financial requirement hovers around 600 US dollars a month.
Since the Turkish currency, the lira, is currently highly devalued, everything in Turkey will cost a fraction of what it does in most countries in Europe.

04:07 Georgia

Georgia is a country in the Caucasus region, nested between Europe and Asia. It is also a country with an extremely flexible visa and residence permit policy. It is also a country with an extremely low cost of living and once again, it is also a country that will definitely provide you a great lifestyle for under USD 1500 per month.
Georgia is also very safe, and is a nature paradise, with the beautiful mountains of the Caucasus covering a good chunk of its territory. Apart from that, you can also enjoy the beach in Georgia, on the Black sea.

05:18 Albania

Albania is another country that is often here on the channel and it’s advantages are quite high.
Albania is also quite safe, and has a very favorable tax regime if you are a freelancer. So if you are a digital nomad, Albania is definitely a good choice.
For EU, US, Canada and UK citizens, and citizens of some other countries as well, you can just come to Albania, and arrange all your residence permit documents while already in the country.
One of the best deals if you want to live in Europe with a budget of 1500 USD per month or less.

06:25 Cambodia

Cambodia is the next country in our list and also a great option to live under 1500 USD regardless of whether you are a retiree, a digital nomad, or an investor.
Cambodia remained one of the most open countries in East Asia during the past 2 years, even though it now has higher financial requirements to stay in the country when compared to the requirements that were in place before 2020.
Regarding the visas, there is a class of visas named E visas, and E this time does not mean electronic visa. This class of visas can be extended indefinitely, so you can stay in Cambodia as long as you please. It is much cheaper than the Thai Elite visa or the Malaysia My Second Home program.

07:41 Bulgaria

Now the last two countries in today’s video are in fact in the European Union, so if you want to live under 1500 dollars per month and live the European dream, here are two options for you.
The advantage of Bulgaria is that you have pretty low financial requirements to live in the country if you are a retiree from a non-EU country. A Bulgarian bank statement with the equivalent of 6 months of Bulgarian pensions plus a certificate showing that you are a pensioner in your country of origin will suffice in terms of financial requirements to live in the country.

08:33 Portugal

We will finish today’s list with Portugal, which by the way in almost every video on the channel, we end up talking in Portugal.
As a matter of fact, Portugal is the ONLY country in Western Europe in which you can live if you have an income under 1500 USD and you are a non-EU citizen. If you are an EU citizen you may be able to do this in Spain as well, especially in the countryside.
Portugal however has the famous D7 visa, which is aimed at foreigners that have income from abroad and would like to reside in Portugal.
