Vandalism in California - Penal Code 594(a)

Hey guys! So today's video is about vandalism in california, specficially penal code 594(a).

So graffiti started on the East Coast and in the 1980's it traveled over to California due to the movie Wildstyle and the hip hop movement. L.A. was a major spot for vandalism, particularly the L.A. River. Even though graffiti is a beautiful artform, the vandalism side of it is apparent down by that river.

The law that governs vandalism in california is penal code 594(a) so we'll be exploring that subdivison along with subdivision (c) which is the punishment section.
