Small bathroom 3d model and Vray render – Sketchup tutorial timelapse
Today I wanted to share with you one of renderings I did for one of my clients. Can’t say it’s one of my best work, but it still made a difference for the client. I was actually hired just to make a visualization so that the client would see how would the tiles he chose look like. But after I mane some minor changes (just the choice of the tub) the client decided to make a change.
Plugins I use in this video are:
Mirror
VertexTools
FredoCorner
Vray for Sketchup
If you want to follow along with all the steps, and recreate this exact model yourself, I suggest you set the speed of the video to 0,5. That way you can follow the tutorial with no problem. But If you’re just here for the speed build timelapse, just sit back and enjoy the video as is, or you can even double the speed.
In the lower left corner of your screen you can see what I’m typing and what each shortcut stands for, but beware, I don’t use Sketchup default shortcuts as you’ll probably notice, so I’ll list all my custom shortcuts bellow.
Shortcuts:
Ctrl+1 - Select tool
Ctrl+Q - Draw line
Shift+A - Draw arc
Ctrl+W - Mirror tool (plugin)
Ctrl+Shift+X - Move tool
Ctrl+Shift+A - Offset tool
Ctrl+R (or R) - Rotate tool
Alt+Y - Hidden geometry (on/off)
Ctrl+D - Tape measure
S - Scale tool
E - Eraser
C - Draw circle
Y - Draw rectangle
V - Paint bucket (Alt - Eyedrop tool)
A - Push pull
The rendering is done with Vray plugin for sketchup, but I keep it extremely simple. I just decrease the intensity of the light, increase the size of the sun to get that soft shadows effect and work around the reflection and refraction material.
If you happen to like this video I kindly ask you to click the like button and to check out the other videos of this series and consider subscribing to this channel. I’d really appreciate it and It would help me a lot.
Thank you for watching and I’ll talk to you in the next one!!
