Above the Armenian town of Areni in the Vayots Dzor province, the Areni-1 Cave Complex has proven to be a treasure trove of Copper Age artifacts including the oldest shoe and winery in the world!

Gregory Areshian is a professor at American University of Armenia. He was the co-director of the international team of archaeologists who, led by Boris Gasparyan, found the 5,500 years old shoe in and the oldest winery in Areni.
