Ma Yong talks about the 17th Tchaikovsky Competition
A flautist teaching at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Mr Ma Yong is one of the three Chinese judges sitting at the woodwind of the 17th Tchaikovsky Competition taking place in St Petersburg, and one of the eleven Chinese jury members, the strongest presence ever.
After the opening ceremony on June 19th in Moscow before he was about to be transferred to St Petersburg the following noon, I caught him for some input.
He is very honoured and pleased to be engaged as a jury member of the prestigious #TCH17, and say that the competition may have the most challenging flute repertoire for contestants.
He talks in Mandarin.
