Chainmaille for Beginners - Part 5: Japanese 8 in 2 weave.

#OctopusDo EP.17
Here's an introduction to the beautiful Japanese chainmaille weave! Start here with the 8 in 2. This means that for every 2 base rings, 8 more are connected to them. Give it a try & you'll see what I mean. Oh, and this one has beads! The 8 in 2 weave makes a beautiful spine that supports 2 lines of beads on either side! Fill the spaces with round beads, pearls or bicones as I did here.

There's an alternate less complicated technique that I demonstrate in this video that can be found @ 46:31

Tools:
2 pair of pliers (I am using chain nose & bent chain-nose pliers)
Flush cutters
Crimpers (I use the Om Tara)
Ruler
Bead Mat
Supplies:
Jump Rings (20, 19 or 18g) in both 3/16" & 5/32" or just 3/16"
**Other sizes will work as well**
Stringing wire
4 crimp tubes (crimp tube covers are optional)
3 strand clasp
6mm beads
