TearRing Saga was designed by Shouzou Kaga, creator of the Fire Emblem series who left Intelligent Systems to start his own Development Studio called Tirnanog. Their first game was Tear Ring Saga for the Playstation. Tear Ring Saga was very similar to the Fire Emblem games, so similar in fact that Nintendo filed a lawsuit (which Nintendo lost). Neither this or it's 2005 sequel Berwick Saga was released in the west.
