Nurse Practitioner discusses why she is testing her Omega3 Index...while actually doing the test!

Today was the day!

I just tested my Omega-3 Index after returning to my Mediterranean-style diet — eating sardines and salmon 2–3 times per week and taking my LPC-Omega-3 along with a standard liquid fish oil supplement daily.

For newer followers, I started my Substack with a little experiment: What would happen to my Omega-3 Index if I stopped eating all fish and fish oil for five weeks?

I’ve written about that experiment extensively in past articles. It’s now been about 12 weeks since I ended that rather dastardly trial.

TL;DR: As an #ApoE4 carrier, my Omega-3 levels dropped far more dramatically than even the experts at OmegaQuant predicted. They estimated my Omega-3 Index would fall by about 1–2%, but it actually dropped 3%.

Now I’m gearing up for a new experiment in April that I’m really excited about. Before starting it, I wanted to see how my Omega-3 Index has responded to returning to an anti-inflammatory, omega-3-forward diet.

I can’t wait to get my results back and share them with you all soon.

In the meantime, I made a short video today showing how easy it is to test your Omega-3 Index at home. You can support my channel at no additional cost by purchasing your next Omega3 Index test via my affiliate link! https://omegaquant.com/ref/964
