Jay is this seven-and-a-half-foot gentle giant who speaks twelve languages and flies ultralight planes for fun. When Dr. Jackson—who runs two massive space stations and scares every government on Earth—offers him command of Station Two, Jay insists he's just a pilot. Except every single thing he does screams "natural leader."

What grabbed me was how real the characters feel. The breakfast scene where Jay calls "dibs" on the Battle Dome before catching himself made me laugh out loud. Mitchell explaining rotation dynamics while everyone groans. Russell demolishing his Irish breakfast while tracking money trails. These aren't cardboard cutouts—they're people you'd want on your crew.
