How to Install Delmar Pleated Shade Brackets

Have an old Delmar pleated shade that you need to mount? This video shows you how to mount your shade using the old and new style of mounting brackets.

For this demonstration, we have the shade out of the window and on a workbench. You can also perform this bench test when you get new brackets and want to see how they fit your shade. This clear plastic bracket is the original bracket that Delmar used on their pleated and honeycomb shades.

This plastic piece on the front of the bracket fits under the rolled section on the top of the metal headrail of the shade. Then, the bracket snaps around the shade on the backside when you press down. To remove the shade, press down on the plastic tab and rotate the top rail of the shade down and away so that the front lip disengages.

Delmar is out of business and the plastic brackets are no longer manufactured or available. The metal bracket is a direct replacement for the discontinued plastic bracket.

This metal replacement bracket is one we have specially manufactured for Fix My Blinds. It operates much like the plastic bracket. This front area slides under the rolled section on the top of the headrail. To hold the rail in the bracket, you’ll tighten the screw on the bracket so that the metal tab is tight against the underside of the bottom rail.

It is best to use either all plastic or all metal brackets on a single shade

To remove the shade, loosen the screw and rotate the back of the shade down and away from the bracket.
