The only school in the world with a British Battle Honour
Did you know that only one school in the world has been awarded a British battle honour?
It’s in India - and today I am paying it a short visit.
Stick with me to learn how this fantastically quirky school was:
- founded by a Frenchman in the service of the British East India Company
- Has the grave of a well-known and controversial British officer within its grounds
And
How the boys and their teachers fought like lions during the siege of Lucknow in 1857.
This is La Martinière College, Lucknow.
My t-shirts can be purchased via this link: https://redcoathistory.myspreadshop.co.uk/
If you are interested in the Zulu War, then please sign up for my mailing list to receive my free book on the subject: https://redcoathistory.com/newsletter/
If you are very generous, you can also buy me a coffee and help support the channel via https://ko-fi.com/redcoathistory
