Learn how to make rain particles that follow the player and stop when you go indoors in Godot 4. Uses GPU particles, remote transform, and collision boxes.

The main technique is using a remote transform node to keep the particle emitter centered on the player without actually parenting it. This makes respawning easier since you don't have to reparent nodes.

For stopping rain indoors, just add a GPU particles collision box that matches your covered area. The particles will hide on contact automatically if you set that up in the process material.
Good for open world games or any game with weather effects.
