Wooden Boat Builders WILSON'S BOAT YARD
AWBF's latest film series - Wooden Boat Builders.
Presenting, the Boat Builders series - another film project we have produced which features some of our world-class Tasmanian Boat Builders. After the success of our Maritime Trail event in April, we could see how everyone really enjoyed getting a peek behind-the-scenes and meet the wonderful folks who normally work behind closed doors.
AWBF thanks Wilson's Boat Yard, West Systems/ATL Composites and Rummin for working with us to produce this film.
So, here is the first of a series of 5 Boat Builders videos, shining the light on the work of passionate boatbuilders who create and restore the very boats we celebrate at each Australian Wooden Boat Festival.
We speak with Jay Lawry from Wilson's Boat Yard in Gardner's Bay, Tasmania.
Established in 1863, Wilson’s Boat Yard is one of Australia’s oldest continually operating boat building businesses. The waterfront shed has restored, rebuilt and created many classic Tasmanian wooden boats and has been a significant name in the wooden boat building industry in Tasmania for over 150 years.
