58:12 - (I’m A) Road Runner
Almost a request but not quite to ”plantfeeder.
The screaming ”preacher” voice of Steve Marriott pays way to an high energy rock’n’roll show.
They are introduced as the funkiest rock band in the world.
Following the success of the bands ”Smokin’” album the band was on a roll of success at the time.
And this show is also the closest thing I have with Humble Pie and Peter Frampton, though not longer in the band at this time but Frampton's Camel share the same bill as do ”Spirit Of The Water”.
Good show and good sound for the time.
The atmosphere is captured well.
So enjoy some Humble Pie/GråZon

Tape notes:
Another Pie show from the box of loose tapes...Humble Pie's homecoming show in 1972 at the London Coliseum was a triumphant return and appears to not be widely circulated. This was the second night of a nine date UK tour after returning from an extended tour of the US, I don't know if it's due to being a "homecoming" show or maybe sharing the bill with 'Frampton's Camel' (Spirit Of The Water opened as well) or a combination of the two but the boys play this show with an extra bit of vim and vigor. The improv and solos seem a bit longer, a bit more emotional and even a bit more raw and that's saying something for a Humble Pie show. Unfortunately, quality is typical for the era but quite listenable and the performance makes up for the quality shortfall.
