Florida beach combing at low tide provides so many opportunities to explore neat things left by the surf as well as critters and shells. Figuring out how the tides down here in Southwest Florida has been a real challenge, but I've finally figured out a great system that works for me and I'm happy to share how I do my research before I get to the beach.
On this Florida beach combing walk I see a new crab I've never seen before and manage to handle a blue crab without being harmed - bonus! I explain all the shells I find and try to give as much info as I can about the shells and critters so that learning about what I'm finding on the beach is fun as well as informative.
Florida beaches have so much to offer and they truly are alive!
