We've adored the cars even when they arrive with faults. That ends now, because there's nothing to overlook anymore. The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage is the best car the British automaker has ever built.

Sure, a handful of credit is owed to technical partner AMG for making this so. These lines though, they're Aston Martin lines. The driving experience is one belonging to the brand as well.

Under the hood is the AMG-borrowed 503 horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. Behind it sits a ZF-sourced eight-speed transaxle controlled via paddles set behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Everything inside the car works, and works well. There are no excuses to be drummed up over persistent warning lights. No fancy prose to describe poor-shifting gearboxes in a positive light. Just pure performance in a prepossessing package.

Yes, a Porsche 911 Turbo will be faster... but the Vantage driver will arrive with a wry smile knowing they have the more alluring machine.
