Across the world’s oceans, an unnoticed massacre is going on. Every year an alarming number of whales are hit and killed by ships – but because their bodies sink to the bottom of the ocean, their deaths go unrecorded. Are ship strikes avoidable, or a problem that’s only going to get worse? We speak to Michael Fishbach of the Great Whale Conservancy about where exactly the problem lies and what we might be able to do to stop it.
