Colds Starts on the Sisters - 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger and GT 340’s!!

This video was made late January of 2019. The cars had been sitting in our unseated garage for just over a month. The weather at the time was -26 C (-15 F).

The orange car is a #’s matching SWINGER 340 paired with its original 4 speed manual transmission. The car came out of Denver CO but was originally a California car. We imported it to Canada in 2017. This car has since found a new, loving home. The green car which we still own and plan to for decades to come in a non-#’s matching 340 with a 3 speed automatic. The car was originally a 318 slant 6 but underwent a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration to bring it to the stage that it is at today. This is a true A65 “Dart Gt” car making this highly desirable in today’s market. This is an excellent driver and ex-show car!

The Dart Swinger does not enjoy starting in cool weather let alone cold. Quite frankly, I am quite surprised it started at all! The shifter was super cold and didn’t want to go into neutral hence all the messing around. The Dart GT started as expected, in fact, that car starts better in cold weather than in warm weather or when the motor is warm.
