How to calibrate (& miscalibrate) a digital pocket scale

Today, let's see how a digital pocket scale is calibrated using a calibration weight. My 500g max / 0.01g resolution scale requires a 500g calibration weight for its calibration. The calibration process is entered by a long press and then a short press of the UNITS button, it briefly displays CAL and then blinking 500.00g, then the calibration weight is put on the scale, then it displays PASS and it's calibrated.
