SOAP CHALLENGE MAY 2021: HOW TO MAKE COLUMN POUR - Cold Process Soap
Here's my go at the May 2021 Soap Challenge for the Column Pour. This is another design technique that requires a very slow moving trace/fragrance oil - and for this video used my favorite FO, Pink Grapefruit from Brambleberry. It's perfect for when you have an intricate soap pour with multiple colored. batters and many drag lines.
I also tried something new with trying to reduce the amount of muddling that occurs once you pull the column out of the center and use your drag tool. My idea was to place a pipe divider under the column tool and to do a combo Column-Pipe Divider technique. My mistake was that I pulled the pipe divider out to soon. I'm going to try this again and wait until after I drag my design, fill it with batter, then remove the pipe divider to see if it improves upon the design.
Leave me a comment below on what types of objects you have used in creating a column pour. For my design, I used the bottom of a coke bottle with created a 5 flower petal shape.I'm always looking for new items that create unique designs,.
Enjoy!
