World's shortest runway - Twin Otter STOL at Saba

The landing strip on the Caribbean island of Saba, known as the world's shortest commercial runway, is only 400m long, with cliffs plunging down to the ocean on 3 sides and a mountain on the other. The runway is marked with an X, indicating that all aircraft are forbidden from landing, with the exception of a few scheduled air services using STOL (short takeoff and landing) aircraft.

Landings and takeoffs feel like you're on an aircraft carrier. Here we see a WinAir DHC-6 Twin Otter touch down and stop in under 200m, making the turnoff to the ramp. On takeoff it back-taxis to the very edge of the cliff and still uses all the available runway length before lifting up at the very end. Quite a thrill!
