Buc-ee’s is coming to Colorado Springs

Everyone thought Buc-ee’s lost Palmer Lake… but they just bought the land on I-25 near Colorado Springs anyway.

Some of… our prayers have been answered. 🙏

For those who missed the drama, Buc-ee’s has been fighting to build its second Colorado location off I-25 at Monument Hill since 2024.

Palmer Lake said no. The governor wrote a letter. Lawsuits were filed. The whole town turned upside down trying to stop it.

Then in February, Buc-ee’s “walked away.”

But while people were celebrating, Buc-ee’s general counsel quietly formed a brand new LLC, filed a warranty deed in El Paso County, and paid over $10 million cash for the same 53 acres.

No public hearing. No town vote. No Palmer Lake involvement needed.

They didn’t lose. They found a different door.

The well permits came with the land. Over 11 million gallons of groundwater per year. The exact thing the community spent two years fighting over. Buc-ee’s acquired it anyway.
This is not a loss. This is a masterclass in commercial real estate strategy.

And if you have been thinking about relocating to Colorado Springs, but your only holdup was that we didn’t have a Buc-ee’s… we now have a Whataburger, an In-N-Out, and a Buc-ee’s on the way.
