Neal Schon - Send me an Angel (theme + speed outbursts :)

N E A L...!!! Came here for the speed lick but left with so much more....'cause when Mr.Schon plays a theme , you listen and learn.

Crafting a vocal melody on guitar and delivering it with the much-needed emotional content is no mean feat and nobody does it better than Neal.
He expertly uses all the expressive techniques at his disposal (bends, vibrato, slides etc.) to sculpt and mould the melody and he always seems to be able to land on the right note at exactly the right spot.

And then he goes and tops it all of with some lightning fast pentatonic speed outbursts.
World Class Player.
The only thing I didn't like about the original recording is his overdriven guitar sound on some of the tracks on the Beyond the Thunder album:
seems like they were too lazy to mic an actual amp and just went for the "...hey, let's go direct with the Sansamp..." resulting in an awful plastic
and brittle sounding guitar tone, which I call a "pisklankske" (there's another Dutch word for ya ;-)))

So I went and replaced it with a creamy Brewster tone....
.....much better, wouldn't you agree...?
